Info.
Hi, my name is Andrew Komarek. I'm only 16 years old and I have been racing Dirt Track GoKarts for over 10 long years. I started out just racing a GoKart with a motor the size of a literal weed-eater motor. But now, I have grown into a whopping Yamaha 250 four stroke engine with a top-speed of over 100mph. I know that sounds kinda crazy to have a KID driving at over 100mph, but if you must know, the driver him/herself is strapped in better than an astronaut. (5-point harness, NASCAR certified helmet, certified fire-suit, fire-proof shoes, wrist restraints(keep driver from reaching beyond the cage), and fire-proof gloves)
Over the time that I have raced, I have made numerous friends and companions. And through these friends, ive learned a lot throughout the years, if I hadn't started racing, I wouldn't have the reflexs I have now. I work at subway, and when a sandwich starts to fall, I have to be on top of my toes to catch it without it falling to pieces.
I would strongly suggest getting your child into this sport/hobby because it builds character. It lets your child experience something like never before while being completely safe. At the track they are introduced to having good sportsmanship and what it takes to reach victory. Ive watched an ADULT come flying off the track in a fury of rage and just about hit a few of the kids playing in the pits. Ive seen that over 20 times and not once have I seen a kid driver do that. Racing can teach a child about judgement calls and timing calls. I know how it feels to want to break down and scream when the world feels like its collapsing on my head, and as soon as I get to the track in the kart and I get to start the engine. all of that goes away. the stress, the pain. it vanishes as I head out on the track.
The great thing about Dirt Track Racing is, theres a surprise in every turn so its nearly impossible to get tired of it. Once you have experienced it, it sticks to you like glue, not just any glue. glue that never lets go. the glue that we want to work but regret buying when someone glues their hand to the desktop.
Im here chasing my dream and letting my soul run wild. Now, Its your turn!!
